It is with a heavy heart that after 12 years of SYB we are announcing there will be no basketball for the 2022-23 season due to the lack of new leadership. When we started our local league during the 2010-11 season there wasn't really any local options for kids to play basketball. By my estimate the year previous there was only 30-40 kids playing basketball. Our 1st year of SYB we doubled that. At our highest point we were over 200 players and 20+ teams. Fortunately with the boys and girls club having their own gym now there are more options and we hope you will take advantage of that. We thank all the countless volunteers who have donated so many hours over the years. At this time we are putting the organization in "mothballs" and will keep the website and FB page going with remaining funds with the possibility that the organization gets resurrected at some point in the future. You will still hear about basketball related opportunities through our FB page. If the community feels a need and new leadership forms we can revisit each spring to see if bringing the organization back is worthwhile. The structure is in place for that to happen.
